May 8 Early Dismissal for Hillcrest Zone & Sipsey Valley Zone Schools

Families in the Hillcrest High and Sipsey Valley High Attendance Zones,

Thursday, May 8, 2025, will be an Early Dismissal Day for all schools in the Hillcrest High and Sipsey Valley High Attendance Zones of Tuscaloosa County School System. These schools include:

Hillcrest Zone

Big Sandy Elementary

Duncanville Middle

Englewood Elementary

Hillcrest High

Hillcrest Middle

Maxwell Elementary

Taylorville Primary

Sipsey Valley Zone

Buhl Elementary

Myrtlewood Elementary

Westwood Elementary

Sipsey Valley Middle

Sipsey Valley High

On Thursday, May 8, these schools will release at their half-day dismissal time. Individual schools will let students and families know their exact half-day dismissal time, as they vary slightly from school to school. The early dismissal is to allow students, families, faculty, and staff the opportunity to attend the graduation ceremonies for Hillcrest High and Sipsey Valley High. Times for both are listed below. We want anyone who wants to attend graduation to be able to be there to support our students. We appreciate your cooperation in making this possible.

Graduation Ceremonies

Hillcrest High – Thursday, May 8, 1 pm, Coleman Coliseum

Sipsey Valley High – Thursday, May 8, 4 pm, Coleman Coliseum

Bus transportation will run to and from school on this day, and breakfast and lunch will be served. There will be no afterschool Extended Day for these schools on Thursday, May 8.

The Early Dismissal Day for Thursday, May 8, applies only to the schools listed above and does not apply to any other schools in the Tuscaloosa County School System. All other TCSS schools will operate on a regular schedule for this day.
