Wednesday, October 16: Testing for 10th & 12th Grades, E-Learning for 9th & 11th Grades
On Wednesday, October 16, TCSS 10th and 12th grade students will participate in their ACT state assessments, and 9th and 11th grade students will participate in an e-learning day.
Students in grades 9 and 11 should not report to their school building on October 16. Your school will provide more information about assignments and plans for the e-Learning day.
Students in grades 10 and 12 should report to their school on Wednesday, October 16 at the normal reporting time.
10th grade students will take the PreACT Secure, which provides them with practice for the ACT test and measures progress towards college readiness. This assessment is given online. Therefore, please make sure your student brings their school-issued iPad to school, fully charged.
Students in grade 12 will take the ACT WorkKeys, which measures foundational work skills required for success across industries and occupations. Based on the scores attained on the assessment, students may be eligible to earn a Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum Certificate. These credentials are widely accepted by business and industry throughout the state and may also serve as the student’s College and Career Readiness indicator needed for graduation.
Once testing concludes for the day, 10th and 12th grade students may sign out and return home to continue their learning for the day.
Buses will run at their regular morning/afternoon pick up time for any 10th and 12th graders needing bus transportation. Carry out lunches will be available as students prepare to leave campus after testing.
Your student’s school will communicate the details of sign-out procedures for Wednesday, October 16, for students who leave campus after testing.
